B.A. of Durham. 1879, Principal of Lagos Grammar School. 1881, February 13, ordained a deacon by Bishop (Cheetham) of Sierra Leone. 1884, March 30, ordained a priest by Bishop (Ingham) of Sierra Leone. 1893, April 20, to England--degree of D.D. conferred by Durham University--and June 29, consecrated at St. Paul's Cathedral, by the Archbishop of Canterbury, with Charles Phillips, as Assistant Bishop in Western Equatorial Africa. 1893, November 22, to Lagos.
